Ron's final missive to Emma. Love, regret and unrealised passion. A love too good to be true and was thus impossible.

The drink. The women. The rak-on-tur. Are you Coolamon's resident Charles Bukowski? Is so . . . please keep posting!!!

Of course I am. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. So many unloved women and so little poertry. I tell them: "Flowers wilt and chocolate melts, but a poem lasts forever." They all love me and their husbands want to kill me. No wonder I drink so much whisky. Thanks for the comment. It made me realise what I do and why. And I will remain Coolamon's only published and tertiary educated poet. keep in touch. Keep reading my crap. It's funny.
Cheers,
Ron Bustard.

A letter with footnotes. Talk about pretentious! I've got to stop drinking so much, but there is little to do during isolation. The first thing F.Scott and Zelda FitzGerald did during the 1918-19 influenza outbreak was to stock up on booze.

A letter with footnotes. A new peak in my personal pretension. I've got to cut down on the booze.

And the moral... if there is one... be careful with messages (texts, emails or letters) written with a stomach full of whiskey.

I know. I'm still ashamed, but she did imply that I am a philanderer, which I am not, and threatening with Snr Constable Ellis, whom as you may presume I have had many encounters with didn't help. I did try to apologise profusely. It did stop the barrage of abusive texts, but I have felt bad about for weeks. Oh well. It wasn't meant to be.
