Our home is burning.

The foundation we built upon broken treaties; the land of 10,000 forgotten names and counting.

The ember in the smoldering ruins of Rondo has become an inferno; raging flames threatening to engulf our land.

OUR land.

OUR property.

The almighty God, ruler of Heaven and Earth said so.

Our manifest destiny to develop and destroy; to divide and conquer by scribbling white lines on a map.

To shape as we see fit.

The lush green grass beneath our feet; the monoculture of pure green blades we fought so hard to create.  Bare handed, we yanked those weeds from the earth; poisoned that which we found unsightly until our land was a pure green sea.  Parched it easily caught fire.

Now, our barricade of picket fences has become a prison of flames.

We are coughing as the smoke surrounds us, so we put on a mask to cover our face.

Meanwhile others are dying; burning slowly in the flames.  Choking to death; in the end, they can't breathe.
