This is a tribute poem to what I think is one of the best rock bands of all time

I can't explain

Maybe because it's from my generation

Their music can make you feel happy Jack

Or make you cry out, "See me, feel me!"

Either way Tommy, "Can you hear me?"

The kids are all right, all except for Jimmy

Behind blue eyes

I can see for miles

As I go mobile on my magic bus

Or my GS scooter

Sometimes they call me lightning

It doesn't take a wizard to play pinball

Or being a seeker for the next fad

I try to find a bargin that I never had

A squeeze box to get me through the night

Or a lover whose love reigns o'er me

Maybe, someone to call my wife

Just someone to know the real me

Why should I care if I miss the 5:15

As I look in the mirror and ask, "Who are you?"

Maybe it's just an eminence front I display

Walking from the tube, I say,

"Sorry Sister Disco, I have no spare change."

I'm doing my best to keep rock live long

Dealing with the punk and the godfather

It won't make me a success story

I tried that with my guitar and pen

Another tricky day I must navigate

Another day that I won't get fooled again

Well, I think you covered most of the classics by THE WHO with this very Beatlesque narrative. I was a Mod when Oasis were ruling the world of Brit Pop. But there's nothing like the real McCoy - drum set smashed and amps exploding across the studio. Townshend owns yachts and sells them in Falmouth Cornwall - my nearest town.

Thanks or reading. Wonder if Townshend ever smashed a yacht?

Very clever...
I can see you are trying to cause a big sensation... and probably will.
I really dig what you're trying to say...

Clever poem 88, do you hope you die before you get old?
