Just a little something.

Doc watched her from the other side of the shop. She was standing in front of the silverware section, picking up and putting down various spoons. There was no discrimination in her picking up of spoons. No spoon was safe from her hands, from her breath, as she breathed hot breath onto each one, wiped it, and looked at herself in the newly polished oval of the various spoons. If I were one of those spoons, Doc thought to himself, I would be absolutely terrified.

Doc had never seen anybody so focused, so driven. Was there a meaning to her examinination? What the hell was she looking for? He needed to find out. He walked over to her.

“What’re you doing over here? Are you looking for something in particular?” He asked her.

She didn’t even look up at him. After breathing on another poor spoon, wiping it, and looking at herself she said, “No sir. I’m just looking at spoons.”
