All spring to fall the yard is filled with activity. Industrious squirrels, tawny to black, dart around collecting nuts left behind and seeds from the many spruce. Their perky demeanour and bushy tails are entertaining.
Performing high wire acts on power lines; chasing each other as they vault from tree to
tree, they are confident in a secure landing.
They dart across rooftops as they scurry on. As winter approaches, they stash their treasures in flower pots with golden marigolds.
Crows and magpies dive-bomb their attempts. It is amazing to see their energy and persistence.
