My idea of an inexpensive relaxing refuge is going to a nearby greenhouse.

I can’t express the extraordinary feeling that I get when first entering. The humidity surrounds me immediately, in complete contradiction to the depleted air that my local area endures. I can breathe effortlessly again. I imagine a voluptuous spa.

The illumination of the sun’s rays through the glass extends this feeling of luxury, moisture, and warmth to the atmosphere. Apart from this, there's a lush greenness to the surroundings.

Thereare so many variations in the colours and textures. And smells that hit your senses directly. The tints of florals are from the lightest ivories to the alizarin crimson. Violet, teals, cerulean blue set against vivid green backdrop along with the fragrance from light to musk.

The redolence of the earth is noticeable immediately as I walk the pathways. The trees and succulents come in every height, from the minute spider plants to large palm trees, and gigantic fruit and willow trees ready to transplant to neighbouring gardens.

It is quiet with a sense of desolation. It is relaxing to be there. Whether I am planning to buy much or just want a very pleasant adventure in my neighbourhood, I go to this sanctuary. I revive for the hour I am there, and long after, a peaceful feeling remains. It carries me through the rest of the day.
