Just To Be a Woman

A Poem About Everyone’s Expectation of Woman

Women struggle for their souls
Parents preach you can’t uphold
expectations THEY foretold without careers.
Work hard, study hard — takes a toll.
Men expect you take THEIR GOALS
on as if they’re YOURS.
Children say “I’m first” — “I need”
While constantly want to disagree.
Society dictates men are first
With priority, salary — how absurd.
Different to the norm
expect that YOU conform.
Made to feel less
You are shunned
With much success.
YOURSELF…
Always fighting…..
JUST TO BE A WOMAN.
