A Rainbow Dream-Catcher

I want a rainbow dream-catcher

to hang there above my bed;

when thoughts so sweet dare enter

let them be banished from my head.

I don’t want dreams of rainbows,

of things that never will come true;

and more to the point, it’s crucial

that I never dream of you.

My dream-catcher is protection

from a fiction never there;

better are those dreams I have

which others deem nightmare.

I’m saying goodbye to the rainbows,

no unicorns, puppies galore;

My mind will now wander a much darker path

with fantasy reigning no more.

Such bruised words portray feelings of desperate melancholy and hopelessness. I hope this black cloud lifts soon, Hully.

I won't be holding my breath, Sue, to be honest. Thanks so much for reading.
