LIFE

"THE STORMS OF LIFE"

As I stand naked in the mirror looking at my truth, the reflection that I cast is that of a storm brewing. With a bright flash and a thundering growl, followed by the darkening of the sky, a feeling of weathering begins to storm my being. As I age, my reflection does not mirror my inner thoughts, for my thoughts are agile and full of wonder, but they are also of a time that has since passed. When I was younger my roots would hold on tight through the storms of life, but as I age and the storms worsen, my roots are beginning to show through the soil, for they are being torn from the womb of Mother Earth. As the strong winds and the heavy rains continue to remind me of my age, I think of how blessed we all are to have weathered through many of life's storms, storms that would make a non-God fearing mans soul succeptible to the gusty winds, and the heavy rains that only this world provides.

"But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the world, they quickly fall away."

Mark 4:17
