Oh Alejandro

Poet: Chelsie Rivera (-2020)

The things I have to tell you,

The memories and struggles I had to face--

And everything that lead me here, writing you this poem.

Every past experience has shattered me-in-to-million-pieces

But I kept remembering and calling your name,

And it’s given me the strength I need every time.

Oh Alejandro--

Nothing can ever compare your love and insanity,

For the things you deeply loved.

My heart cannot go through another love fail,

Now it's all black and empty--

Looking for anything to replace this feeling

Sometimes I feel like I'm settling instead of healing.

Just--give me something to move on and forget this thing called love--

Nothing like it's torturous feeling of need

And it's constant desperate call for attention.

Oh Alejandro--

I regret many things, but getting to know you is far from that.

You are my most vivid memory, my cherished gift and my first love--

Nothing not even your death could have changed this.

Everything was like a perfect dream that I didn't want to wake up from,

love was our top priority every night, even when it didn't feel right.

Not feeling, seeing or being with you was my utmost life sentence.

Oh Alejandro--

Nothing like your hugs or kisses to keep my heart warm at night,

Anything you ever did for me was a true blessing--

My heart will always belong to you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope you enjoyed this poem. It's one of my favorites so far.

-Yours Truly, Chelsie Rivera.
