The first time you held me in your arms

did you know I was going to achieve greatness?

I had shattered the expectations they had

placed on me

became more than they feared

When they all doubted me was it your

voice that shook the earth?

It was like the storms that split open the sky

my legacy will last longer than the ash

from fires that took their breaths

I know you're there, lonely and scared,

so I'll keep sending new friends up to you

and your tears can wash the red off my skin

The ghost of your kisses chase away

my fears and your voice is the only

sound I now hear

yet there is only one thing that you never got

to say before the heavens fell

Tell me, mother

the first time you held me in your arms

did you know I was going to cause the

end of the world?
