Two years' later...

Amanda Rain arrived at the gothic, 18th century Mansion.

She watched the driver, Childerson, smile at her.

'Your luggage, Miss Rain', he said.

'Thank you, Childerson. You're from London, originally'.

'Yes, Miss Rain. The work in travel dried up. I saw Lord Racherford, and he lived in New York, with his American wife, Lady Racherford, who was from Kansas'.

'I see'.

'Why am I here?', Amanda asked him.

'It's about your birthright', Childerson answered.

Anne frowned.

Then she walked up the stone steps, as the mystery deepened.

Amanda gazed at the mysterious Mansion.

'It's rather terrifying in the dark', Childerson stated.

'Oh, I am not afraid. I have a lamp with me', Amanda said.

Childerson nodded.

'The Mansion has its own secrets', he told her.

He had short, black hair, blue eyes, and tall.

At forty, he wore a black coat, brown trousers, a black belt, grey socks, and black, polished shoes on his feet.

On his right hand, was a wedding ring.

The door opened, and they went inside.

Amanda waited.

She was thinking about the broken romance with other men in her life. She didn't want to imagine the past; she focused on the here and now. She saw Childerson was holding the front door key. He was dreaming of the last month, or two.

The door creaked open, and they went inside the gothic Mansion.
