A poem that describes my experience on my favorite day in the month.

On my favorite day of the month,

It is almost always raining,

But the sun eventually comes out,

To greet us.

My family will load in the car,

Grandma, Papa, Mom and my Brother,

Pack up into the old minivan,

Trunk full of flowers.

We drive for about 20 minutes,

Then do a large turn,

Into an always barren parking lot.

And we unload.

We start the trek,

Hands full of flowers and memories.

We visit the graves,

Of those we have lost.

We do not seem sad,

But we mourn on the inside.

Yet we are happy for the memories that

They have granted us.

We make sure their tombs are clean,

Lay those tulips down on the grave,

Remember those happy times that they gifted us,

Then start the walk back to our car.

On my favorite day of the month,

The family will reconcile,

And for the first time in a while,

We are quiet.
