Just a dream I had

HAWK

Wind rider winding

The breath of God

In a palor blue palace

That foot never trod

A living sail

On seas of air

Oh that I could for a moment share

That lofty regal throne

So bound to this soil

If I could know

What the wild wind says to him

Perhaps I could go

To ride his sky

To sail his sea

If just for a moment I could be

Lifted on wings of my own

But heaven's voice calls

He draws so near

That the secrets she tells him

My ears cannot hear

So fast to the earth

I must keep

And soar with him only

In night's dreaming sleep
