We always seem to be most blind when it comes to those we love.

Each day

she wakes

to feel

his pain,

like needles through her veins.

He yells

and screams

at what

it brings,

shame and broken strings.

His pain

is hers -

his pain

deters.

He does not see that she and he

though meant

to be,

are bound by strings unseen.

The slap

of words -

the sting

of screams,

the tears that break her seams.

His hurt

is hers -

this world

will blurr,

For wounds it does incur.

Though all

she tries -

Through all

she hides,

this scene it does recur.

If there is ever one way to describe what blind faith feels like, it's this. The structure looks beautiful, and the message is clear. Very good poem. :)

I like this a lot... very good narrative... great rhythm and the rhyme structure is nice as well . But I most like the physical Greek/Roman Column-like structure... it creates a visual almost ancient sturdiness that reinforces the longevity of the relationship expressed so vividly in this piece.

I am really happy to see the interest in this piece, I feel it truly does express the truest nature of relationships. Two people so deeply entangled that their emotions react to each other's. Thanks so much for the praise, it is worth more than gold.
