Darkness consumes me again,

like all men,

I bend to the blend

of chaos that lends

no hand.

Sand is my life,

slipping through

gripping hands -

Flowing land

that was banned

to the seas.

Tanned like leather

on my knees

with no trees

providing oxygen to breathe

I grieve

for all I've seethed

against.

Past tense,

my mind tenses now

as my body did

that day I became

a demon of decay.

Nothing I can say

will change the way

the days will play

now that I've been

banished to the caves.

Sand,

glued to the earth,

but ill fated

to never know

just one home.

Even grown,

the light that shone

in the dreams

once roamed

was never known

for more than a moment.

I dont blame life

or this world though,

I do grow,

it just doesn't show.

Im two toned

and owned by my mind

and I grind my teeth

to dust

as I rust

all beneath my touch.

Change,

how do I rearrange

my estranged soul

to not be enraged

but rather

to stay engaged

and uncaged -

to finally turn the page

and enter the next stage

of my story.
