A short story about one of my favorite childhood things. A Review Chain story from a prompt.

My fondest childhood memories are of sliding in the snow on my red flying saucer.  I guess it was called a saucer because it was round.  No doubt it was called a "flying" saucer because it was so fast; faster than a sled.  It was faster than anything!

Me and my brother and friends would spend hours in the back yard, trudging up the hill and sliding down it.  I always used my red flying saucer.  I could hardly walk in my snow pants and boots, but I tromped up that hill with my mitten covered hand grasping the saucer handle behind me.  Sometimes, when my hands were too cold after a couple of hours of sliding my slick little saucer would shake my grip and fly solo down that hill.  I would run, sometimes roll, after it and we'd make the trek up hill again.

Man that saucer could fly!  At the top of the hill I would sit down on it, give a little push off the side ground, then grab on to the handles and spin off like a whirlwind.  It would fly down that hill and off the second landing on to the first and straight down into the front yard, stopping right at the front bushes.  Sometimes I could barely see in front of me because the wind was kickin back in my face.  We had a blast sliding for hours.  We would go in for a nice hot bowl of Lipton Chicken Noodle soup and then back out again for a few more hours of sliding.  It NEVER got old!

But I did..

As a child who always dreamed of snow but never got it, your story is exactly what I would've loved. I love how you describe your little read flying saucer, it sounds like so much and such a joyous experience.
