This is a short flash fiction. At times, it is better to speak more than to say few words. Hope the story entertains. Enjoy reading!

(Flash Fiction)

by Harry Little

I left for a haircut at night. As is my habit or manner of speech, I said to the barber, “Make it short… just short”. And he gazed me for about five seconds as if I am a thief shouting to give all the money. Then he took a machine and before getting started asked me, “Sure, you want it short?’’

“Yes! please”.

And so he began from the sides. He ran the machine on the right-side hairs which was normal. Every barber either begins from sides or back. Then he ran on the opposite side. I could see the good look in the mirror. No complaints for that. Then he went on to trim the back-side hairs. He gently bent my neck a little. After a few minutes, I felt some coolness on the back-side of my head. It was the air-conditioner that blew cold air on my neck, and head, too. I, then, looked in the mirror and I could see, that I was almost there. Once the front part hairs are shortened to half the size right now, it’s all done.

The barber steps in between me and the mirror. And I, of course, couldn’t see myself in the mirror. The barber then ran the machine on all the front part hairs. After about three minutes, I see myself in the mirror. It turned out that I am nearly bald. I was a bit shock to see that, since I didn’t expect for that. And so, I was a dumb. I should have said it clearly what look I wanted. Then the barber took a scissor and a comb to do the finishing.

I cut my own hair, with a 1/8 inch guard on the clippers. The Sluggo look works for me.

Well, its a fiction. Not reality. But I like trimming hair in summer, particularly. Thanks for enjoying reading!

...A good time to try the classic look of a fedora. Thanks for the trimmed tale!

That was a hair razing story, Harry, even though you cut it a bit short.
