Please give me a moment

Before I fall

To show you I’m different

To experience the wall

That guards my heart.

But I’ll always remember

That I’ll never be enough for you

That I’m just taking a number

For a love you’ll never choose

I was nothing to you from the start.

I’ll always hope that one day

I’ll be caught before I crumble.

That someone will find the words to say,

Even if it’s just a mumble.

To wave your wand of Lark.

To be the cause of my revival

Before I take the final tumble.

To be the smile that rivals

The one that’s a symbol

Of what tore my heart apart.

I’ll miss you the most

After I fall

To break an oath

A shadow to all

To pass through a veiled arch.
