With my thoughts running rampant

With sad songs playing low

My heart has been wanting to rant

Dear, was it all for show?

It just wants to know

Why you made all those promises

Why you let all those emotions flow

We were opposites

But we made it work

Finding you was like releasing a cork

On an old wine bottle

Or finding the perfect spot for a turning fork

Our emotions ran full throttle

A love that sank to the very core

I promised to always be yours

I promised to never leave

I promised to always love you more

I promised to always find you, even across the seas

Like a breeze that always blows back

A connection that others lack

You don’t need to love me now

But someday, I’ll find my way back

Into your arms, if Fate allows

Just promise to remember me…
