People ask me why I don’t have a girl
To hold and to twirl
I just laugh and shake my head
I’d love to, but my heart is full of lead
Others when they hear my name
They just say it’s myself to blame
Either I’m too much or too little
Not an in-between, no middle
It’s not that I don’t want a girl
With bright eyes and chocolately curls
But why should I compete?
Sure, I’m incomplete
But I have yet to find a girl
Who would pick me over an earl
I have yet to find a guy I can beat
What girl would want me for keeps?
So I just sit here and wonder
And listen to the sounds of thunder
Why I can’t be perfect for someone
Before I lose all my days of fun
Why I’m either too much or too little
And my self-esteem is so brittle…
