I can come to you with everything, Heavenly Father
Oh, how I want to grow
But whatever it is, I can’t let it go
My sometimes confusing state of mind
Which gets me in a serious bind
The burdens I choose to carry
Which cause me to sway
So, I forget that Jesus is the way
Even the heartaches my family endures
Because there seems to be no cure
Even the laziness and restlessness of my life
Which causes me to struggle with mental strife
What about the days when I don’t want to pray
Still some days I just get on my knees
Or on my bed, I lay
I can come to you with everything, Heavenly Father
Yes, everything my precious child, everything
Don’t you believe that I can do all things?
Father look, even the decisions I must make
But the first step, I’m always afraid to take
The plans you have for me
And the dreams I so long for
Yet, I can’t achieve them
Due to the doubts and fears that I store
Even the lonely tears that I weep so heavily
Thus, I forget that you still love me so tenderly
What about the style of my natural hair?
And the many shoes that I wear
I can come to you with everything, Heavenly Father

Yes, everything my precious child, everything
Don’t you believe that the victory has already been won?
The outfits you wear, the keys that you lose
The books you want to read
And the husband or wife to choose
The job that you need to pay your bills
To give your tithes and offerings at freewill
The frustrations of life, which blinds you
Makes you wonder if I’m still with you
That exam you gave up on
I can help you carry on
The procrastinations you battle
All to me I say surrender, so I can handle
Yes, my precious child
You can come to me with everything
No more excuses, just hard work
You’re never a failure, just a student of life
And guess what
There will always be a lot for you to learn
So, hold on strongly as your life’s journey goes on
Yes, my precious child
You can come to me with everything
