You took me on an adventure that year,

to an unknown feeling, erasing fear.

You told me to never change my rhythm,

keep dancing, into your trap, your victim.

I did not know it then, but my selfness faded.

With a red pen, a new me you created.

You convinced me to color myself red.

A sweet little poem, until the ink bled,

deep into the paper, a "beautiful" stain.

All for you, I adapted to the pain.

But the final draft wasn't enough.

You wanted more, and you crinkled me up.

I gave you my words, my face, my style,

my dreams, and eventually my smile.

But thank you for tearing our love apart.

I needed to lose you to keep my heart.
