TELL ME THE STORY

Daddy tell me the story of Jesus

I’d like to hear it again

Do you think He’ll leave a light on

If it’s late when I get to Him.

Will there be playgrounds in Heaven

May I swing as long as I please

Daddy who’ll be there to help me

Next time when I climb a tree?

Daddy, how will I know it’s Jesus

Will He have His name on His shirt

And will He just reach out and take me

Like He did when Momma got hurt?

Let’s say our night prayers now Daddy

Kiss me then sing me to sleep

Don’t cry again tonight Daddy

The lord has my soul now for keeps

Close your eye’s and sleep child

There’ll be no pain when you wake

I’ll lay right down here beside you

And keep all the monsters away.
