When Autumn Comes Around

There’s a price we pay for the tree that shades

When autumn comes around,

As a gentle breeze plucks the leaves

That float gently to the ground.

There is no shade on the color wheel

That holds the beauty here

The leaves are painted with God’s own brush

He uses once a year!

And when the limbs have all gone bare

The branch is left with none

You feel a chill ’cause, winter’s here

The snows are yet to come.

Take heart, the leaves will come again

When flowers bloom in spring

Birds will fly and fill the sky

The Nightingale will sing.

God will start another year

With the heat the summer gives

The grass will green and all the things

We thought were dead, now lives.

We will know God’s pure Grace

For we are Heaven bound

We’ll live again as do the leaves

When Autumn comes around.
