A Two-Faced Bitch

I’m not sure what’s come over me

but I’m no longer who I know as me

but am split in two.

Half of me anger

and half of me pain,

not anything else remains.

Eyes turned inward,

looking like those left blinded

by long time neglected cataracts;

I’m looking through the maze

that now fills my brain to capacity

and I can’t find a tiny bit of sense

inside the quagmire

of here, there and nowhere.

But I feel this hunger

that gnaws and gnaws and keeps pushing me

into becoming something more

than I ever was

or ever intended to be.

I don’t need my sight to find that

wretched heart of yours.

Twisted logic tells me what I’m going to do -

I’m going to tear that beating heart

straight out of you

and only when it’s pulverized and still

will I find any peace,

any kind of mental rest

for you insisted, kept pressing on with that test.

How much would I take?

I guess you found out for sure...

such a shame that you cannot provoke any more;

for you’ve turned me into a two-faced bitch

and I’ve still got that insatiable

itch.
