mmm hmm

Peter pan.

Its the story of a man who refuses to acknowledge he grew up. I relate to his dilemma. My hands though, they reveal the truth of my age. Honestly if you knew me you'd know.  I've always been a solid 10 years younger than I am. But time misses no man indefinitely. Like a boomerang if you duck the first pass, it comes back around kenetically doubled....

My hands.....

They show 47 years of scars. The skin is wrinkled like my grandfather's hands were when I used to watch him shuffle the deck. The left pinky bends unnaturally ever since I reset it that summer night a lifetime ago. The veins rise across the face of the fist for what reason? Why does a human need that large of veins in the ends of their arms? Idk, but there they are, just barely below the flesh. Those hands....

Those hands?

Those hands have seen so much, they've done so much. They've held life in its beginning and delivered its end. I look at them and I remember strength they barely still possess. I covet what they once could do.

Oh life, its bigger, bigger than you and you are not me... haha, REM
