I don't fit in, and I'm glad.

Sometimes I feel I don't fit in.
I bottle up the fire within.
I read the room to keep my cool,
And hide the truth just like a fool.

I act one way throughout the day,
But now I hate the part I play.
It's time for me to just be me.
No one can tell me who to be.

We all conform to social norms,
But deep inside our souls are storms.
The lightning's trapped and put on shelves.
We must break free and be ourselves.

Exchange all of your masquerades
For Renaissance and renegades.
Release your thunder, make a mark.
Your rainbow will ignite the dark.

Excellent, Bruvton. And I'm sure many more than me will be able to relate to this.

Wow, there’s some absolutely glorious use of imagery here! I like the dramatic effect this poem has, totally works with the rebellious message it conveys. Well done!
