Written as a tribute to love between two people, holding fast as humanity's template for all of mankind's history. This is a sometimes subtle, but always powerful story, at turns simple and complex -- told here perhaps obtusely, ...but I hope a stronger testament thereby.

Sonnet Of The Imperishable Minimum

Myriad people skitter across this scrummy crust of earth
in the here and now of proto-point time inertial.
Of tales, sagas and personal trials, there is no want or dearth
of reenacting and renewing love’s theme eternal.

But from the sum of sweaty vows and seeking hearts triumphant;
amongst the lonely multitude of billions, there is you and there is me.
And though the body of humanity be super-abundant,
we are, in microcosm, the sum and worth of history.

For within vast evolutions of times and seas and dust
and the turbulent stirring pot of countless interactions,
obscured by mass, hard-wired quests of basic lust,
thrive melding duets of magnificently shared abstraction.

In the mega-scheme, what meaningful love exists seems fragile stuff:
Two is a tiny sum in such a world ...but it is enough.
