Sometimes my heart is quiet and calm,
like the soothing lull of a hummingbird's song.

And some days,
passion sparks a flame
that runs through my veins
with a craving begging to be satiated;
like a thirst waiting to be quenched,

igniting a longing to transcend the mundane,
to feel the intangible,
to find magic in the unexplained,
to be free of the density that tethers my wings to the ground,

to burn alive and rise from the dead
over and over again.
Reborn. Refined. Transformed.
