It's been a while, but last night I finally sat down with a pen and paper (a keyboard, haha!) and wrote another poem. It felt good. I imagined having someone to write something like this to, and the words just flowed out. Hopefully some of you out there enjoy it.

To Know You

To have someone to hold, in these dark hours,

To share a love that would only be ours,

To endure together the shortness of life,

To help each other, in this age of strife.

To confide in when the mind is a storm.

To be there for you through the storm in yours.

To hold when the nights grow cold.

To stand forever by as we both grow old.

To come home to at the end of the day,

To be loyal to; to never betray.

To hold your hand down the aisle.

To each day, make you smile.

To hear your joyful laughter,

To have this life; this, I am after,

To know and love your beautiful spirit,

To love life together as we live it.

To have this reality, not as a dream.

To have this, I ask you please.

To take me, to take the chance.

I will love you forever, I promise you that.

Thank you, Grace! I'm glad it gave you a nice feeling. I wanted to try and convey a very pure love and the beauty of it as I think too often today we're sold the idea of love as something more dirty and sexualised, which is a shame on quite a few levels.

Thank you for reading and commenting, I appreciate it. :)
