Yeah. No. Fuck my life. I hate this bullshit

It’s unreal to live this day, honestly. It’s so normal in many ways.People are going to school, working, feeling depressed because it's November. I woke up a bit before 7. I spent the night at my friend’s place because why not. We hung out last night, I walked there and didn’t feel like walking back in the rain at midnight, so I stayed there. Too bad for him, he had to listen to me rant about the elections while we were eating breakfast and I’m 99% sure he went back to sleep the second I left for school. School was also normal. I sat with my friend before the class started and it felt so unreal to have the results on my phone suddenly turn so fucking red when Trump got Florida and Texas. Not that I was surprised, just disappointed. I spent the whole day, which was about four hours, checking if someone won a state or who got into Congress and whatnot. I feel like for the past three hours, we’ve been at 238 – 213, according to AP, but obviously the numbers vary from your sources. Which is so horrible because everything is too fucking close to call.

It’s infuriating to wait. It’s infuriating to not know how the world will look tomorrow. It’s infuriating to think we might have to wait for days, even weeks. That’s scary as well. To be honest, the past few hours have been calm. Sure, there have been protests, but that’s it. It’s scary to think how people might react if the results take weeks or are unclear. This is such an important day and everyone and everything is at their limit already. Looking at it from the outside, it seems like the US is just one event away from civil war. Could be Trump winning another term. Could be Biden winning. Could be Democrats flipping the Senate. Could be Trump actually announcing he won’t leave unless we get the results now. Could be one person deciding they’re done waiting and they kill someone. Literally anything. The whole year has been kind of bubbling up and this could be the boiling point, no matter what happens. I hope not, but I’m not optimistic enough to believe this won’t result in violence. Right now, at least 69 million people have voted for Biden. Almost 67 for Trump. That means millions of people will be disappointed.

Personally I’m just anxious. I need information. I have none. I need to do something, so after writing this, I will clean my apartment. After that, go bowling. After that, get drunk. Not a bad plan for a day that’s never going to end. Okay, it will, but not really until we know who is the next president. Until that, it’s “election day”. I just hope we get there some day this week, maybe. Preferably in ten minutes would be nice, but that’s not very likely. Hope you manage. If it’s too much to handle, there is nothing wrong with drinking a bit and eating some ice cream like I am doing right now.

Living here in New Jersey where Biden won 65% of the vote, and watching the different news channels putting their spin on this, it's going to take some time and many court cases to get this election in the books. The absentee ballots and mail in ballots have to be counted, all by hand.
The pollsters had Biden winning by a close but decent amount. Wrong again just like 2016.
Go bowling and have some drinks.

I know you don't get world politics and the fact that POTUS is a very important guy to the whole world. So we, the world. Have I not expressed how shitty the relationship between Europe and US is over the past 4 years?

It seems a Mickey Mouse political system from here, but it's what they've got. The sun will come up tomorrow whatever happens, and whoever manipulates the system enough to get in, the rest of the world will work with respecting the office. But mere mortals like me just look on with distain. Usianguke

Didn't know you could predict the future and what I'll be. Not that I'm exactly a leech on society now anyway.
I know Finland is a pretty small country, but that doesn't make us useless. We're still a part of the EU, an ally to NATO and we have a long history in international politics. Pointing out my country is less useful than some other doesn't make my point invalid. I don't represent my country, I represent me.

Well, I believe every individual is responsible for their own words. I represent myself, so don't really get what my opinion has to do with your opinion about my country. I'm merely using it as a comparison
