Conspiracy Theory ~ pt I & II

The media is on fire with speculation about what the transition of power may entail.

Trump allies are wringing their hands trying to develop an exit strategy that will minimize collateral damage to the presidency as well as the Trump brand.

What no one is analyzing with any seriousness is any reason WHY the 45th president of the United States is SO set on maintaining control of the office of chief executive of our nation.

Recently the Washington Post revealed that the Con-man-in-chief has amassed huge personal debt, $420,000,000.00 if their sources are to be believed. Much of this debt is reputedly coming due.

Moving in the financial orbits that Trump and his children frequently occupy, one might reasonably expect to encounter sharks; predators that exist at or near the top of the food chain.  Whether Trump, who has managed to secure financial support despite his uncanny knack for bankruptcy, owes any portion of his reputed debt to the shadowy figures we usually associate with dime-store novels and old gangster movies is, of course, the stuff of bad fiction and conspiracy theories. But stranger things HAVE happened. Just ask Jimmy Hoffa. Oh yeah, that’s right, you can’t.  They never found the body.

Or what if, and this is something no one has really mentioned since Donald dodged the impeachment bullet, the looming threat of criminal prosecution from any number of sources is looming large on the Don’s troubled mind.

Whatsisname Mueller made it clear in his now famous report that a sitting president is immune to prosecution.

Any reasonable human being might speculate that the potential prosecutor(s) have been queuing up in anticipation of the day when citizen trump is no longer a sitting president.

Either of these scenarios would easily explain the bizarre and, let’s be honest, increasingly desperate antics that our Cheeto-in-chief is willing to go to to maintain his tenuous grip on the reins of power in this great nation. Abject fear is a great motivator.

Or maybe Donald is just the babbling mental case that many fear he is, and always has been, in which case, hold on to your hats, he’s still calling the shots until January, quite literally.
