the fine dark

invites you

down

his grey silk sheet thrown back for you to lie upon

but you hum otherwise - content

to float the high, billowed zephyrs,

stars of ice

shooking from your skirts

you’ll choose the time and place of your fall,

fickle girl that you are

and I’ll stand – here – sugared temple of pine –

the green now black with night shade –

I hear before I see you

-slow swirl and whisper soft –

your first kiss white and thrumming
