For Dot It and Syd, just in case you should ever come across this.

Do You Remember?

I wonder,

do you ever think of me

or have those years

long since vanished

from your memories.

Insignificant me,

wiped away

and never thought of?

I wish I didn’t have them all,

these memories

that taunt and tease

from the very distant past.

We had a laugh!

The three of us,

hanging out,

sharing interests that no one else

has ever shared since.

It’s futile,

water under the bridge

and by now way out to sea,

but I still can’t help but wonder

if you remember me.

For I remember you.

Of course they do, but I have often wondered why people drift in and out of ones life. I have come to ponder that it is more like photos. Snapshots in time which reflect a moment in the sun. That is all they are meant to be. For that very moment, however, others last long and stay at your side. They don't fade, they grow old with you until they die. Even then you have the memories to keep you warm. Love the poem. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks, Amy. They were my only real-life friends that shared my interests. I guess they are on my mind because I am definitely going back to my teenage interests.

Love this sad poem Hull. Life is like that...isn't it? Paths cross, some run together for a while and others just cross. I believe there is a reason and when that reason is done....they uncross. Sometimes it's just a moment a smile and a quick exchange of words and sometimes it's years of regular interactions...and everything in between. Yes, Hull, whether they ever have the chance to tell you or not ..... they remember you.

You know, honestly I doubt it. They were the only friends I've really had, we shared so many interests and could quite happily hang out doing nothing. So many years ago now though. I used the nicknames in the dedication, just in case.
Thanks so much for reading.
