At 29 years old when 2020 began I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. It is a condition with no cure with non stop, wide spread pain. If it was not for my medication I would not be walking today. The pain is worse than tattoos and I have 25 of those. My catchphrase since this started.... "One sec"

One Second

Bones rattling

knees buckling

Here you stand before me claiming

“I am lying!”

Doctor shows would actually look

Unlike the real ones who stopped trying

Drugs and rest but more walking?

Too thin

Too large

We still feel like dying

Some days are good

Some days are okay

But we might need a walker at 20

Just one second I say

Needing the motivation

Getting up I get too dizzy

Sitting down is still at play

I hate this I say!

Oh dear

It’s the brain fog typing

Science marches on ...hopefully in your favor, real soon. Heartfelt first-hand-experience poem. Keep writing, oh poet. Your work is a lyric doorway to knowledge, understanding and compassion.

Thank you! I appreciate that. Don't worry I don't ever plan to stop
