Hibiscus flowers shower you

Your face is shaded

Your eyes sunken deep

So dark

So hollow

Did you show too much tenderness?

Are you being punctured by too many thorns?

Is the blood soaking through?

Did they take everything keeping you alive?

Is this the end of you?

You've been this way before

So soft

So gentle

Until down the road, miles are taken from you

And you're left barefoot walking in gravel

So this is where you shelter yourself

This is where you bury yourself in the sand

And prick any soft hand that comes your way

Your only response when asked 'are you okay?'

'Cause all you were, and all you've become

Is do to the stolen love

So goes another cycle

Bleeding heart

Tender soul

Feathered touch

Thrown into flames once again

I hope you find your way
