Stay with me, my steadfast light -

my hope, steal from me mine plight.

Greet me yet with open arms,

I beg you please, spare my sight.

Leave me not alone in this world of dark,

guide me on forevermore.

For when alone I fear my weakness,

cast adrift to never find shore.

Grant me this request, one final serenity.

Grant me this, lest you find me a remedy.

Grant me this test, that I may prove worthy.

Grant me this nest so I need never worry.

Stay with me my unyielding darkness -

my despair, give to me mine will to fight.

Greet me yet with hollow eyes,

I beg you please, steal my bite.

Leave me not with others in this world of light,

lead me astray, a castaway.

For when in company you give me strength,

just enough to chase this day.

Grant me this, my world of grays.

Grant me this, my world of haze.

Grant me this, my world of daze.

Grant me this, my world's ablaze.

Life is a mix of both light and darkness, and I think your poem shows this beautifully. It's a great piece. :)

I am really so glad that you enjoy and follow my work so closely. Your words of kindness really mean so much, the support I have never sought or come across. This one was written when I found out I wasn't just a good guy, when I began accepting my own darkness so I could grow past it.
