I have written chest gripping epics

About the hero’s whom I’ve loved

Touted them as dazzling and darling

as supermen,

as handsomest cowboy angels,

and crazy fun cubs

I kept those torches burning

carried high and embarrassingly long

those memories romanticised

on poetic pink paper and

in sugar dusted dreams

but if I really think about it

if I was truthful about the details

if ran my fingers across the heart scars

indicating pieces broken and mended

I would remember

They were all arseholes

Steven P. Pody

Your taste is apparently consistent, your long-term luck (in this arena) rather dire, and your writing bubbles from a cathartic font of experience. Whew! Bravo to a seasoned survivor, and fine author to an appreciative readership.
