He's an interesting man with scruffy hair, a frazzled output, and a sociable attitude, an interesting converser. He's not a hippy, even though he wears shirts and trousers from second-hand stores. He picks up rubbish from sidewalks and beaches, while worried about onlookers. He also owns dogs but hates cats because of their environmental depravity. He doesn't drive a car but sometimes asks to be driven. If this is what he likes, is that not consumption? Could this be on par with my gadabout ways? Or is he a purely practical man?

There's another man who wears finely tailors suits and shiny shoes. This one consumes beauty with an insatiable hunger, however, prides himself on being slow and savoring it. He collects antiques but places them neatly, so to not become a hoarder. He smokes cigars on occasion but doesn't smoke cigarettes. He prizes food and art with an astute eye but also holds them in it critically.

The things we love, what we do, is based on the consumption of any form. After all, life is about the survival of the mind, we consume to ease the madness away.
So, what is your madness?

A very interesting piece. Two well developed character sketches and a good question to end on. My answer is written words
