A man being surrounded by darkness.

The cold darkness grew around his tiny frame, his bones unable to stand the aches and pains. He could only look at his body, the blackness surrounding him, swallowing him, entering him. Soon it would consume him whole and there’d be nothing that anyone could do for him.

Liam could save him. Liam would be the only one to break this curse. He cried out in pain, his bones feeling like they were being twisted, his insides not able to withstand the torture.

Where are you?

The agony of holding on for so long took its toll. He collapsed, his last thought sending a prayer to his one true love. His husband. Liam...please hurry... His eyes fluttered closed, the darkness disappeared.

Samuel gasped, his eyes wide open. As he lay on his front, he felt around to figure out where he was. Scrambling on the soft mattress, he turned his head. “Liam! Liam.” Liam was lying, fast asleep, right beside him.

Taking deep breaths, he lay on his back with one hand to his forehead, thanking whoever that it was all just a horrible nightmare.

Hi. To everyone who reads this story, the one line that reads “where are you?” should read “Liam, he whispered. Where are you? (in italics).” I don’t know why but it’s disappeared every time I’ve tried adding it...
Thank you.
