Taking Care is a pun on twisting Care Taking. My poem reflects taking care, as in removing care.

Nurses on walk out, with staff short handed
More nurses save lives, they have demanded

Do they see, that they cause, their own issue?
A paradox that does not need to continue

I guess if they can afford to dance on the clock
They can afford to stand for a cause, on the block

As if we have good nurses, stocked ready made
Maybe the entitlement of labeled heroes, is to blame?

Thanks. I am a bit irritated by how the UK does more with limited resources. Saving lives is a privlage, and the best care givers will bare down and deal with adversity. Complaining when there is no immediate resolution, is a waste of energy and time. Which the patients can't afford. My mom who was part of the anti-Vietnam war protests in Berkley, CA in the 60s, and a devout Democrat, mind you an ex-health care worker, would never walk out and protest on work conditions under a pandemic. A pandemic is a war, with humanity vs a virus, not man against man. Two different things. Yet political views have warped views on needs, on both sides.
