The Next Chapter

It’s time

to take a good hard look

at my life -

where it’s going

and where it’s gone.

I’ll regard it

through the bottom of a glass,

through the edge of a mirror.

It won’t stand up

to detailed scrutiny.

A sideways glance,

looking for some clues

for the next chapter,

and maybe I push too much,

seek to hard,

for the only answer I receive

is there in a pile

of shattered

glass.

Love this poem Hull. It is good to reflect every now and again...at least once a year. Write On!

Nice line, "The only answer I receive is there in a pile of shattered glass". It's true that one learns from their mistake(s).

I also like to add that we should peek on our past, at times. For in the past, we have a lot to learn.

Hmm, sometimes, but there can be lots that's better off forgotten. Thanks for giving this a read.
