I also feel obliged to state that the views that are expressed in this poem have no affiliation at all to the photographer, this poem is purely my own words and work. I hope you enjoy!

The Generation of Misinformation

(I Don't Sleep)

Did your ancestors give their lives so you could have freedom today?

I have complaints of the human mind and yet I realise:

Every dictator is someone who doesn't love enough,

And the flames will be licking at my door,

Should I express a view that you don't like,

I never thought I'd see,

The world colonised by fear,

-------------Trade our freedom for some false safety,

-------------In real slavery,

-------------For a monster with no teeth.

Keep screaming dictators,

I don’t trust a word you say.

All the dark stories we made, well, they’re coming true today,

All your agendas,

So many know so little,

The Generation of Information yet so little truths.

We replaced the stars for the loudest mouthpiece,

They’ll raise an army to silence you,

Kneel to the names of one’s reason would despise,

This, is the new you.

Break the family,

Break the home,

Break the culture,

Break the soul,

Usher the one,

And we’ll all submit,

A future under one tyranny.

Rewrite the books,

Rewrite the speech,

Rewrite the past,

Rewrite the free,

Usher in one mind,

And rewrite free speech.

We’ll hear you out,

Bowed at your feet,

Remind us of our lines,

You can tell me.

I do not sleep.

I do not sleep.

What is going on today is mind-boggling. Your poem is very sad and, yet so true. Very deep and very well written! Write on!

An excellent description of what is going on in so many places, on so many different levels. Powerfully expressed.
