Kai laid in the cold dirt, his head hurt extremely. He opened his eyes, which didn’t necessarily help due to the fact his vision had been clouded over. He sat up, his ears ringing, but there was something he noticed, the screams could be heard for miles. Quickly he began grouping around, he grabbed something..or someone. Kai pulled himself up, his vision began to clear and his ears weren’t ringing anymore, but what he saw made his stomach twist into a knot.

There were dead bodies covering the floor like a blanket of snow, the smell dug into his senses. He quickly covered his nose as he looked around, he’d almost been part of what they said controlled the population, but it was really just pure massacre. Kai let go of his nose, he knew he should’ve been used to the smell by his eighteen years of living there. He grabbed onto the bottom of his shirt, ripping a piece of, he had to find where he was shot and begin clotting the wound. Once he found it he shoved the cloth into the whole, wincing as he’d shoved it in roughly, he then ripped another piece off and tied it tightly around him so it could hold pressure.

That’ll do.. Kai thought quietly and nodded, ever since he started the rebellion the government had been trying to kill him in every “population control” they had, it had been five years since he started the rebellion, yet he wasn’t dead yet. It surprised everyone about the fact that people have been trying to hunt him down since he was fifteen years old, and the amount of times he’d been shot was phenomenal as well. Kai began to walk back to the base camp, he needed to get medical assistance too since the entry wound was near his left lung and he could feel the blood in his throat. He quickly sped up as he neared towards the building.
