You couldn't avoid it if you wanted to

It's been a long time,
Since any choice kept,
Undefeated with time.

You're a product,
Your imagination....
It's, a buffer,
Imagination is,
The sponge cake.
It protects you,
From the sickly,
Sugary sweet.

Emotions like building waves,
That crash around me,

Like an avalanche,
I took them with me.

What decision ever made,
Has been my choice?
Did you know me?
......My Guilt?......

Decisions are wrinkles in time,
Wrinkles only the dead forget,
Yet the dead haunt the living.
What words wrung in your mind?
What water flowed to the basin?
I'm stuck on it, with an affinity,
For my own hellish self-blame.
We couldn't wash ourselves clean,
So you took yourself away,
The only thing you could control,
Since your mind escaped your grip,
Like the water wrung,
From pale fingers.
