Uh-oh, almost time for my writer's club annual dues. No dead beats here... The lyric love of craft, companionship of kindred spirits and mutual support is there, and the money will follow -- guys, gals and fellow poets...! My short tribute to all my fellow club members.

Mere Words Sufficeth Not For The Local Writer's Society

Please

..............accept
............................my annual dues
before we achieve

..................................what everyone rues...

bankruptcy of spirit

.....................................and creative mind
insolvency of every kind;

mayhem and chaos within the club...
poverty of pencil

................................(aye,
..........................................there's the rub !)

accept my coin

.............................and mark me 'paid'
and tell the Muse it's not betrayed;

for flourishing, ever,

.....................................that be the goal
when flush legacy meets

.............................................the literate soul.
