Read to see what it's all about...

I stare at my feet

Which the waves gently slap

Making my scars both physical and mental burn

The water calls out to me

“You came this far,

Having snuck out of your house to watch the sunrise

And relieve your-everything.

You might as well come a little closer

I’ll love you a my own

For i have always been hated just like you

They tell all that i’m filled with garbage

A dump for others worries

And that they should clean and try to help me out

And then they just dump some more garbage on me!

Come in,

We’ll be friends

Or sisters

However you prefer it most”

I stare at the beckoning water deep in thought

Since we have so many similarities,

The water is warm

And the sand in and around it smooth and in most cases clean.

And I am also sweet and friendly

Maybe even a little smart!

Yet we both get littered on

And i meet her every day

We greet each other like old friends

And i take off my sandals as though at home,

Before accepting the welcoming water

Which only some can understand,

Only those who aren't accepted.

Black Dog

What first gave you an affinity for the ocean?

If you read my other poem "Dear never to be brother" you will kind of see that I just lost a brother and stuff have just been hard so I wanted to sympathize(if that's the right word) with someone or something else and then I thought of my best friend and how much she loves oceans and how much she could probably relate, so I wrote a poemish poem with the ocean and a girl who is a little like my best friend. I hope that explains what you were wondering, because for me poems and just writing in all is best when it comes from the heart and what you are momentarily feeling, which whether it is depressed, happy, sad or angry, as long as its a super strong feeling no matter which one, you could always channel it into pretty amazing writing(oops, I got a bit off topic there :) )

I feel like there's so much depth in this poem, it had this touching layer of sadness in it. I loved the comparison with the water, I thought it worked really well and what they're going through. Great job.
