Surrounded By Trees
Whenever life’s troubles
are getting me down,
submerging me deeply
as though I will drown,
there’s somewhere I’ll wander
that keeps me from harm;
this forested sanctuary
acts like a charm.
The caw of a crow
and the greenness of leaves,
you’ll find me quite safe
when surrounded by trees.
I’m rooted, I’m grounded,
I’m hidden from sight;
a much needed escape
from the plight and the fight.
With nature I’m home
while with people I’m not,
so please don’t deny me
this so cherished spot.

You have beautifully related nature in your poem in a unique way. Being a dendrophile, I throughly enjoyed your writing.
