In the fog and on the shore
I go walking
The morning hours before dawn
Shadows stalking
The air is crisp and lightly salted
To the taste
And I find the solitude refreshing
When lacking hast
The pelicans
They glide along the shore
As the sounds of water lapping
More and more
The seagulls make their calls
To a host of other gulls
As I wander through the fog
Along the shore
The fog is thick
Like a serpent's scaling skin
And I cannot see
Where I'm going or where I've been
But life is short
So I continue on my way
Sleighing dragons
That rise from yesterday.
